How to boost your website conversion using A/B testing

Designing, building, launching and maintaining a website is not as easy some people may think. Today, websites are not only designed to look good to people who visit it on a regular basis, they are virtual businesses that either perform very well or slowly dwindle down to nothing at all.

So, it is very important that the designers of the site and the website owner knows what it will take to build and maintain an effective website.

AB Testing

Thankfully, there is a vast amount of information published on the web that has been designed to assist individuals and organizations alike with their Internet business needs. Some of the information that has been posted addresses how to test a website's performance by using a wide diversity of software tools.

One of the most notable involves the use of A/B testing or Split testing. This kind of testing can be very valuable to the users since it helps to identify how to maximize conversion rates.

What is A/B Testing?

A/B testing gives an individual or a group of people an opportunity to see how a site is performing. It extends the testing to 2 different versions of a web page to see which one is providing the best conversion rates. This type of testing can be used the following situations to boost conversion rates.

• Owners of eCommerce websites may request A/B testing to be done when they want to increase their product sales.

• SaaS web apps developers and site owners are looking for more visitors to signing up for their trials and then convert these activities to paid visitors.

• Media Blog Post and news sites are looking to increase their reader’s clicks on ads that pay or they want to make sure that their readers are signing up for more paid subscriptions.

What Makes A/B testing so beneficial?

A/B testing allows the site to be run with 2 versions of the site. For instance, one of the versions of a landing page will remain exactly the same (called version 1), while the second version may be released with minor changes.

Even though the 2nd version may have small changes, they can still have a major impact on lead capture, online sales and conversion rates. Therefore, A/B testing can be very beneficial over a small period of time.

A/B Testing Allows Users to Test Ideas that May Work Before Being Implemented on Full Scale

Another benefit to using A/B testing is allows the site owner to boosts their traffic in a number of different ways. One of which is making changes that has the potential to increase traffic without disrupting the normal flow of business. In fact, once the changes have been made, they can be implemented temporarily and then be pulled back if they do not increase the conversion rate.

Meaning it gives the user a chance to try out new marketing techniques and strategies before it adversely affects the regular business.

There are many different ways to test a site before it has been placed in a real world environment. However, once the site has been released to the public, the testing can become a little more complicated.

One of the best ways to test a site to boosts sales and increase conversion rates is to use A/B testing. A/B testing gives a developer an opportunity to make small to significant changes without completely disrupting the performance of the entire site.
